Monday, June 8, 2009 – Joined by White House Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett and new Deputy Assistant Secretary Robert Stanton, Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar will announce a new initiative to engage youth in the outdoors on Monday, June 8 on the National Mall. Also joining the event will be 350 D.C. elementary school students who will have fished in the pond at Constitution Gardens earlier in the morning as part of a program sponsored by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
